Being able to differentiate between the real news and the fake news would prevent complications, both minute and drastic. However, many people in the modern world instantly believe what they see or hear in media without question. This often creates many problems that could easily be avoided if research was done. The radio audio that was played in class stated that 80% of teenagers had difficulty determining legitimate news from false news, as shown in a study. This goes to show how much harm could be done if a news article that was directed to target and harm a certain group was believed without question. Without even researching, many people would harm the victims of the false news. Fortunately, many schools are leaning towards search engines filtered with verified information, but that does not stop the false news that’s circulating around the media. It’s our job to provide readers with proper sources and the education to differentiate the real versus the fake.
